Final Fantasy VII Gone Missing?

So back in 2012 Square Enix re-released the RPG Classic Final Fantasy VII on the PC, with some added features like a character booster (in case you hate playing games) and a small achievement list. This all seemed well simply amazing to an old school gamer like myself. So I did what any Role Player would do, I went home and downloaded the game as soon as the interwebs would let me. It was great! I felt like I was a child again jumping into a whole new world all over again it was once again simply amazing.
After putting the game down for a few months I went to jump back into the world that is Final Fantasy VII when I suddenly found this on my screen:
In case you can't read it all it says is that it can "Not Find" the game... Which is supposed to be installed on my hard drive, on my computer, locally... And if you have noticed the "Not registered yet?" at the top of the screen with the Sign in here button... Yeah I tried that and it brings me here which is just a page telling me the play button banner is no longer on the server that the page is on. So this kind of hurt a bit seeing how I spent money on this one, but I didn't stop there I quickly jumped on the square forums to see if anyone else was having the same problem. Well I found out that the game has been doing this to a lot of people, so my only conclusion is that the game is down and after searching and searching all over the interwebs I found that the game yet Square Enix's store site has no mention that the game is down and still allows customers to purchase the game (for $9.99).

Personally I feel a bit outraged at this! I don't see why a big name in gaming like Square Enix slipped up on something like this, and I feel that they should do something about this immediately. I mean I know my case is I was able to play the game (at least once) but still I paid for the game and I think I should be able to at least play the game locally, but now it wont even allow me to play the game. And I can't help but feel really bad about all the people who buy this game from here on out and just never be able to play the game at all. I currently have an email out to Square trying to get through to someone about this issue and am waiting to hear back from them on the issue. I think my point if there is anything is this, I feel Square should take down the site and refund any money wasted on this mistake that is past the date the game went down. Oh and I also feel the should issue a patch or something to allow you play the game at least locally. Though the game is great, and I feel it helped turned me into the gamer I am today! it let me down to see a company like Square drop the ball like this. In closing though I have a negative outlook on the future of Square's online gaming support for older games I love the game and if you have a Playstation 3, PSP, or PS VITA system you can purchase the original game on the the playstaion store, if not then sorry your outta luck on that one. Well in closing folks this has been Bradly Burn from Umbrella Tech! Cyal8playaz!
